Sharon Howard included Tellhistory on her Blogroll so I’ve been reading her blog, Early Modern Notes. From what I’ve read about blogging it is a great way to share the discoveries or random ideas that may not yet be ready for publication but that you just want to tell others about. Sharon works as a project manager at the University of Sheffield dealing with digital collections on two projects that sound like they would offer a lot of stories to share: the Proceedings of the Central Criminal Court and Plebeian Lives 1690-1800. For a taste of her work, a great story, and an example of how she has used the social networking of the web to dig deeper, read George’s Choice: an 18th century convict and a medical experiment. Sharon is a little more spontaneous than me (maybe I’m just warming up) and her blog is a lot of fun.
